Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled MRI Technologist to join our team at Ochsner Health. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will be responsible for maintaining safety in the MRI environment while assessing patients and safely performing routine MRI procedures in accordance with prescribed safety procedures and protocols.

Key Responsibilities
  • Verify physician orders and procedures to ensure accuracy
  • Utilize radiology information systems to facilitate care
  • Explain procedures to patients to ensure understanding
  • Independently operate equipment to complete imaging procedures according to protocol
  • Review patient images prior to transmission to ensure diagnostic quality standards
  • Complete timely quality control procedures in accordance with regulatory standards
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association
  • ARRT, ARMRIT, or CAMRT registration as an MR technologist, or equivalent
  • 6 months supervised MRI clinical scanning experience
  • Advanced certification in MRI required by an organization recognized by the ACR Registry within two years of employment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Clinical MRI experience
  • Advanced certification in MRI required by an organization recognized by the ACR Registry
Working Conditions

The MRI Technologist will work in a patient care area, exposed to blood, body fluids, and tissue. The incumbent may be at risk for exposure to communicable diseases and hazardous medications or waste.
