About the Role

Southcoast Health System, Inc. is seeking a skilled Hospice Nurse - Supportive Care Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to individuals and families in need.

Responsibilities
  • Assess, develop, implement, and evaluate individualized plans of care to maximize patient comfort and health.
  • Provide supportive care to patients and families in accordance with physician orders, plan of care, and healthcare policies and procedures.
  • Identify patient and family needs and provide care accordingly.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an NLN-accredited school of nursing.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
  • Two years of recent hospital, medical/surgical, or other relevant nursing experience required.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of IV pump and central line maintenance preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills, including experience with various software, database, and electronic records programs preferred.
  • Current RN licensure in the Commonwealth of MA and RI required.
  • Hospice and Palliative Care Certification required within eligibility timeframe of 2 years if not certified at time of hire.
  • Basic life support (BLS) certification required.
  • Fully vaccinated against seasonal influenza and COVID-19 virus or exempt for medical or personal reasons.
