About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at Northwest Community Hospital (NCH). As a key member of our Radiology Department, you will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures, including surgical diagnostic procedures, to help diagnose and treat patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic imaging procedures, including surgical diagnostic procedures, using a c-arm and other equipment.
  • Assess, treat, and care for patients of all ages, implementing assessment/treatment/care based on developmental stages.
  • Maintain aseptic conditions in the Surgical room during examination processes and clean radiographic equipment after each patient.
  • Process images and check for proper quality.
  • Report any diagnostic equipment malfunctions to the appropriate supervisor and place service requests.
  • Assist in maintaining adequate levels of supplies in work areas.
  • Supervise activities of students assigned to surgical work areas and assist in training students.
  • Participate in on-call rotation schedules and schedule exams in the absence of the Primary Lead Surgical Technologist.
  • Assume responsibility for own professional growth by attending Continuing Education classes, seminars, and reading professional journals.
  • Adhere to all NCH standards, policies, and procedures.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology program.
  • Current ARRT registration with certification in Radiography and Illinois Emergency Management Agency, Dept of Nuclear Safety accreditation (IEMA) required.
  • One year experience as a general radiographer with operating room experience.
  • Current CPR certification from the American Heart Association.
  • Knowledge of and/or experience in the correct use of body mechanics.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform numerous radiographic examinations in OR.
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to interact effectively with patients and hospital staff.
  • Analytical ability to determine proper patient positioning and quality of exams performed.
  • Communication skills necessary to inform patients regarding examination procedures and discuss procedure requirements with surgeons.
  • Ability to maintain a flexible work schedule and accommodate patients past scheduled work hours.
  • Ability to use a computer to perform representative functions and competencies of the job.
