Job Overview

Southwire Company, LLC is seeking a skilled Maintenance Planner to join our team. As a key member of our maintenance team, you will be responsible for delivering routine planning services to sustain a proactive culture for all individuals performing maintenance functional tasks.

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience as a craftsman and a strong understanding of the work management process. You will be responsible for ensuring that qualitative maintenance plans and job packages are prepared to facilitate execution of preventive and corrective maintenance activity.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Ensuring job plans are prepared so that the scheduler has a backlog when creating the weekly schedule.
  • Developing improved work methods and procedures to continuously shorten production downtime and increase overall productivity of the workforce.
  • Maintaining a library of job task lists that provides easy access and identification of repetitive work planning.
  • Updating bill of materials as needed.
  • Ensuring work packages are comprehensive prior to assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accountable for development of job plans that identify safety hazards, permitting requirements, special tools and equipment, and required PPE.
  • Builds a 'ready to be scheduled' backlog with time requirements assigned to job tasks to support weekly maintenance scheduling.
  • Prioritizes job development based on asset criticality and customer prioritization of work.
  • Supports the strategies of maintenance planning, scheduling and execution.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a craftsman.
  • Strong understanding of the work management process.
  • Computer skills related to planning and scheduling of work.
  • Ability to prioritize workload based on customer needs.
