Job Title: System Integration Engineer I

Daifuku Airport America Corporation is seeking a highly skilled System Integration Engineer I to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and integrating complex systems that incorporate Automated Guided Vehicles (AGVs) and Autonomous Mobile Robots (AMRs) for various industries.

Responsibilities:
  • Design and integrate semi-complex systems that integrate AGVs and AMRs for manufacturing, industrial, warehousing, airports, and entertainment applications.
  • Collaborate with sales, estimating, and design teams to develop AGV and AMR product designs and specifications.
  • Participate in recommending ideas for productivity improvement, cost reduction, and customer satisfaction.
  • Translate technical requirements into system architecture.
  • Perform system integration of AGVs, AMRs, and peripheral equipment at customer locations.
  • Review and interpret customer project specifications.
  • Author design specification documents for projects.
  • Define scope of work and description of operation.
  • Create system layout drawings, renderings, and illustrations.
  • Create system code.
  • Calculate equipment performance requirements.
  • Interfacing with customers.
  • Collaboration with other teams on projects.
  • Participate in simulation/emulation as needed.
  • Ensure system design meets intended level of function, durability, and cost.
  • Prepare RFQ and specification documentation for equipment and machinery.
  • Evaluate technical risk of projects.
  • Identify and raise issues impacting project quality, scope, timing, and cost.
  • Present material handling technical solutions to customers and internal teams.
  • Recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Provide analysis of system operational data to identify performance improvement opportunities.
  • Define preliminary project schedules.
  • Estimate system costs.
  • Provide ROI assessments for projects.
Qualifications:
  • 3 years of direct experience in System Integration and/or Automated Material Handling Systems.
  • Strong analytical skills to extract critical data and translate to system concepts.
  • Experience with entire system design and integrations at customer sites.
  • Able to accommodate various situations and changing priorities.
  • Positive attitude toward work requirements, fellow employees, and customers.
  • Team player with effective communication, technical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to travel to customer sites, including international travel to Canada and Mexico.
  • Flexibility and availability within work schedule for changing job deadlines.
  • Work well under pressure and tight deadlines.
  • Works precisely and pays close attention to details.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Self-managed and committed to working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Leadership responsibility within cross-functional multi-disciplinary teams and organization.
Education and Experience:
  • A.S. in Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • B.S. in Engineering (Electrical/Industrial/Mechanical/Mechatronics/Robotics/Computer Science) or a related field is preferred.
  • AGV/AMR, Mobile Robotics, Automation, Controls Engineering, PLC programming, and System Integration experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of electrical wiring troubleshooting.
  • Knowledge of ANSI B56.5 specification.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office - MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, is preferred.
