The Sleep Lab Technician is responsible for conducting diagnostic sleep assessments aimed at evaluating and treating individuals with sleep-related disorders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepare patients and equipment for scheduled assessments. Conduct patient interviews to identify sleep disorder concerns and clarify testing procedures.
  • Execute and document assessments. Monitor patients throughout the process and address any needs or equipment malfunctions as required.
  • Attach patient monitoring devices (EEG electrodes, EKG, EMG, EOG, airflow, respiratory effort, and oximetry) and record physiological calibrations.
  • Gather, analyze, and synthesize patient information to identify and address specific patient needs; score, interpret, and report findings from sleep assessments.
  • Prepare, calibrate, repair, and maintain testing equipment. Identify and report necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent required. 1-3 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Prior laboratory experience is advantageous.
  • Familiarity with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the field is essential.
  • Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and achieve objectives.
  • Capable of performing a variety of tasks.
