Job Description:
The Traffic Monitor is responsible for managing pedestrian traffic, ensuring the safety of children and other pedestrians as they cross streets. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work in varying weather conditions.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Monitor traffic flow at designated crosswalks during school hours.
  • Safely assist children and pedestrians in crossing streets.
  • Use hand signals and signage to direct traffic and communicate with drivers.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to school officials or local authorities.
  • Remain alert and vigilant while on duty.
  • Engage with students and parents to promote safety awareness.
  • Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor at all times.
  • Attend training sessions as required.

Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a safety or community service role is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and make quick decisions in high-pressure situations.
  • Must pass a background check.

Salary:$17.00 per hour (part-time, 10-month position)

Work Environment: Outdoor work in various weather conditions, typically during morning and afternoon school commute times.
