Vascular Sonographer

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a skilled Vascular Sonographer to join our team in Oak Forest, Illinois.

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Vascular Sonographer to perform a comprehensive array of sophisticated abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts procedures. The ideal candidate will have excellent technical skills, strong communication abilities, and a commitment to providing high-quality patient care.

• Perform a wide range of ultrasound procedures, including abdominal, OB/GYN, vascular, and small parts studies.
• Accurately recognize and document critical findings, such as deep vein thrombosis, ectopic pregnancy, aortic aneurysms, or dissection.
• Assist physicians during procedures, such as amniocentesis, thoracentesis, biopsies, cath lab procedures, surgery, thrombin injection, and compression for pseudoaneurysm.
• Assess arterial circulation using pulse doppler, duplex imaging, and physiologic indirect testing.
• Document patient history, images, and results for analysis and interpretation.

• Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with Abdomen issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
• Medical Sonographer (RDMS) registration with OB/GYN issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Med Sonography (ARDMS) within 3 months.
• Vascular Technologist (RVT) registration issued by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) within 3 months.
• Vascular Sonography (VS) registration issued by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) within 3 months.
• Vascular Specialist (RVS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 3 months.
• Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS-AE) registration with Adult Echo issued by the ARDMS within 18 months.
• Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) registration issued by the Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) within 18 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 6 months.

• Associates degree in Allied Health or Bachelor of Science degree in Allied Health Science.
• 1 year experience in Abdomen and OB/GYN.
• 1 year experience in Vascular exams.

The Vascular Sonographer will work in a fast-paced environment with established time constraints. The ideal candidate will be able to communicate effectively with patients and respond to their needs in a timely manner.

The Vascular Sonographer will be exposed to ill patients and may be exposed to blood and urine samples. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team, demonstrating good judgment, reliability, responsibility, independent thought, and action.

The Vascular Sonographer will be required to attend on-going in-services and CME's to maintain accreditation required to satisfy the ARDMS, RVT, ICAVL, and ACR standards.

The Vascular Sonographer will be a member of professional societies and will read journals for new and upcoming procedures.
