The primary responsibility of all Lifeguard personnel is to maintain the safety of all individuals utilizing the aquatic facility. The Lifeguard position encompasses, but is not limited to, overseeing the premises and its visitors, ensuring a pristine, secure, and enjoyable experience at The Outing Club, and fulfilling daily tasks and responsibilities as directed by management. Candidates should demonstrate the capability to react to critical situations and respond promptly in emergencies. We are dedicated to delivering consistent quality across all our social and recreational offerings, particularly our swimming and entertainment activities. Our commitment to our exceptional facility is paralleled by the enthusiasm of our members and staff, who prioritize fostering a warm, welcoming, and family-oriented community.
Job Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 16 years.
- Valid American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification
- Current CPR/AED Certification
- First Aid Certification
Lifeguards are expected to competently perform all physical tasks necessary to execute essential and related functions of the role, including swimming, monitoring the facility, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, communicating with members, and engaging in repetitive motions. This position involves prolonged exposure to outdoor elements, including sun, wind, and rain. The role is characterized as light to moderate work, with potential for heavy lifting and physically and emotionally demanding tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the Safety and Cleanliness of the Facility
- Ability to respond effectively to critical incidents and maintain composure under pressure; possesses strong critical thinking skills.
- Completing all assigned task lists as designated by Management
- Delivering exceptional Member Relations
- Instructing and/or assisting with Swim Lessons, Swim Team, and other related member activities
- Addressing inquiries from members regarding the facility and club events
- Providing vigilant Surveillance of the facility and its patrons
- Knowledge and implementation of Injury Prevention techniques
- Ability to execute Emergency Action Plans and Water Rescue Skills
- Conducting Victim Assessments Prior to Providing Care, managing Breathing Emergencies, Cardiac Emergencies, and delivering appropriate First Aid treatment, including care for head, neck, and spinal injuries
- Wearing approved uniforms upon arrival at the facility
