The Outing Club is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Certified Lifeguard to join our team. As a key member of our aquatic safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and well-being of our members and guests.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise the pool area and its patrons, ensuring a clean and safe environment.
- Respond to critical incidents and emergencies, using critical thinking and calm decision-making skills.
- Complete daily checklists and tasks as assigned by management.
- Provide excellent member relations and customer service.
- Teach and assist with swim lessons, swim team, and other related member events.
- Address questions from members about the facility and club events.
- Provide effective surveillance of the facility and its patrons.
- Knowledge and ability to perform injury prevention techniques.
- Ability to provide emergency action plans and water rescue skills.
- Victim assessment and first aid treatment, including head, neck, and spinal injuries.
- At least 16 years of age.
- Current American Red Cross Lifeguard Certification.
- Current CPR/AED Certification.
- First Aid Certification.
Lifeguards are expected to be able to perform all physical activities necessary to perform the essential and related functions of the position, including swimming, sitting, and observing the facility, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, grasping, feeling, talking to members, and performing highly repetitive motions.
Prolonged exposure to elements, including sun, wind, and rain. This position is expected to be able to perform essential and related functions of the position, which can be described as light-moderate work. May involve heavy lifting, physically and emotionally strenuous work.
