About the Role: The Development Manager is responsible for planning, organizing, and managing CAIR-LA's fundraising efforts. This includes annual fundraising, donor development, and special events. The Development Manager reports to the Executive Director and works closely with them to implement CAIR-LA's annual fundraising plan.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy that aligns with CAIR-LA's mission and goals.
  • Manage a team of development professionals to ensure effective execution of fundraising initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Communications team to create engaging campaign materials and messaging.
  • Build and maintain relationships with major donors, foundations, and corporate partners.
  • Oversee the planning and execution of special events, including the annual banquet and fundraisers.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business/Marketing or related field is preferred.
  • Three to five years of fund development experience required.
  • Three to five years of managing fundraising staff experience required.
  • Experience in social justice-oriented and/or nonprofit organizations preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously, and meet strict deadlines.
  • Must have strong initiative and demonstrate the ability to learn in a self-directed manner with minimal supervision.
  • A record of measurable results in organizing and implementing initiatives.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
