JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Carry out various assembly tasks on electronic and mechanical components, including modules, boards, panels, and cables. Interpret diagrams and drawings, create initial layouts, and utilize hand and power tools effectively. Conduct continuity checks on ongoing and completed work.
Perform quality inspections on the production line to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies according to specified guidelines and under controlled conditions. Adhere to approved assembly procedures for components or aircraft structures, referencing FAA-approved internal procedures, OEM technical data, and work package instructions.
Position and align subassemblies in jigs or fixtures using precise measuring instruments, following blueprints and index points.
Inspect completed work to identify necessary rework before final approval; ensure that repaired components meet established standards and tolerances.
Conduct serviceability tests as required, using specified test equipment outlined in technical manuals.
Complete work package documentation as mandated by FAA and/or repair station manuals.
Submit finished work to Quality Assurance for final inspection and certification of airworthiness.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Education:
High School diploma or GED; mechanical and electrical experience is advantageous.
Experience:
Typically requires 0-2 years of relevant experience.
This entry-level technician role necessitates basic skills to perform fundamental tasks within the assigned technical area, including assembly and mechanical or electrical components, as well as the ability to utilize technical data and aircraft drawings for part identification and repairs.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Assignments require minimal knowledge beyond the assigned tasks. Demonstrates a clear understanding of routine work aspects.
Handles basic, less complex technical assignments and assists higher-level technicians with moderately complex tasks.
Proficient in riveting, hardware installation, and the use of precision instruments and hand tools for these tasks. Capable of fabricating parts.
Reads work orders, blueprints, and specifications or examines samples to determine repair or fabrication procedures and operational sequences.
Repair aircraft structures according to specifications. Familiarity with machines and tools, including their design, use, repair, and maintenance is essential.
Must be adept in the use of air-powered hand tools and related equipment.
Understanding of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and techniques for optimizing manufacturing and distribution efficiency.
Ability to work flexible hours and shifts as required.
Ability to operate in a safe and professional manner, adhering to all regulatory requirements, including OSHA, EPA, and other state and federal regulations.
WORKING CONDITIONS / ENVIRONMENT / SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS
Must comply with all safety regulations, including the ability to wear a respirator as per OSHA regulations without restrictions that would impede proper use and seal.
