Aircraft Assembly Technician Job Description

Key Responsibilities:
  • Perform repetitive and non-repetitive production assembly operations
  • Assemble and subassemble mechanical and electronic components, including modules, boards, panels, drawers, frames, and cables
  • Follow diagrams, drawings, and blueprints to ensure accurate assembly
  • Design initial layouts and use hand and power tools, measuring instruments, jigs, saws, and fixtures to complete tasks
  • Conduct quality inspections on processing lines in accordance with quality specifications
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, reassemble, and test experimental or prototype assemblies and subassemblies
  • Follow approved assembly procedures for component or aircraft structures, including FAA-approved internal procedures, OEMs, technical data, and work package instructions
  • Perform serviceability tests as required and use test equipment specified in technical manuals
  • Complete work package documentation as required by FAA and/or repair station manual
  • Submit completed work to Quality Assurance for final/in progress inspection and certification of airworthiness
  • Inspect completed work to identify any needed rework before signing off
Requirements:
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Minimum of 2 years of aviation and/or aerospace experience in either assembly or maintenance
  • Strong decision-making and leadership skills
  • Experience with handling big mechanical components
  • Avionics background

  • Competitive pay rate of $20-35/hour, depending on level of experience
  • Two shifts available: 1st Shift (M-F, 7 AM-3:30 PM) and 2nd Shift (M-F, 3:30 PM-12 AM)
  • Contract to Direct opportunity
