Job Description

Advocate Aurora Health is seeking a per diem float respiratory therapist to support our healthcare team in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide respiratory therapy services to patients in various care settings, including critical and non-critical care venues.
  • Operate specialized ventilators and assist physicians with bedside procedures as needed.
  • Administer medication treatments and therapies per physician order and/or patient-driven respiratory protocols.
  • Clean, maintain, and ensure proper functionality of equipment, troubleshooting as necessary.
  • Educate and instruct patients in respiratory therapy techniques, self-care, and disease management.
  • Collaborate with other departments to provide education on managing patients and facilitate clinical problem-solving.
  • Under physician direction, adapt and comply with policies and procedures for various service areas, perform tasks, and maintain performance standards.
  • Demonstrate effective communication, feedback, and conflict resolution skills, promoting a culture of safety.
Requirements
  • Respiratory Care Practitioner license issued by the state in which the team member practices.
  • Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 0 months.
  • Respiratory Therapist certification (CRT) issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA).
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 0 months.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) within 0 months.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)/American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) within 0 months.
  • Neonatal/Pediatric Respiratory Specialist (NPS) certification issued by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC) within 0 months.
Education and Experience
  • Associate's Degree in Respiratory Therapy.
  • No experience required.
