Job Overview

Gaines County Harvesters, Inc. is a family-owned ready-mix concrete supplier seeking dedicated and responsible drivers for full-time positions.

Compensation: Highly competitive wages based on experience, well-maintained mixer trucks, guaranteed 32 hours weekly for rainouts, uniforms, and health insurance.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid Class A or Class B CDL.
  • Applicants must be 21 years of age or older to meet insurance requirements.
  • A minimum of 2 years of verifiable driving experience is required.
  • One year of experience operating a mixer truck is preferred.
  • Clean driving record is essential.
  • Ability to pass DOT drug screening and physical examination.
  • Current medical card is mandatory.
  • Basic math and reading skills are necessary.
  • Adherence to all DOT regulations and GCH safety protocols is required.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work up to 12 hours maximum on duty/drive per day.
  • Capability to lift objects of various sizes and weights.
  • Must tolerate outdoor work in varying environmental temperatures and weather conditions.
  • Physical ability to climb stairs, ladders, reach, squat, stand/walk for extended periods, balance, bend from the truck, crawl, kneel, push, and pull objects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct daily preventative maintenance and inspections on vehicles, including fueling, cleaning, and checking fluids.
  • Utilize water hoses to clean the mixer between loads.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections diligently.
  • Assist with maintenance and repairs as necessary.
  • Visually assess the consistency of concrete in the mixer.
  • Communicate effectively with coworkers using verbal instructions, two-way radios, or hand signals.
  • Provide accurate documentation on delivery tickets.
  • Ensure all delivery tickets are signed and returned appropriately.
  • Exercise sound judgment regarding work site access and unloading procedures.
  • Maintain positive customer relations through professional and courteous behavior.
  • Assist in training new coworkers as needed.
