Accessibility Compliance Specialist

This position is ideal for individuals with strong persuasive communication abilities, a dedication to regulatory standards, and excellent time management skills. The role involves significant travel, and a company vehicle will be provided to facilitate your inspections.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough inspections using an ADA compliance checklist; evaluate properties; provide photographic evidence to support inspection findings; verify business types; enter data into our systems; and communicate information for processing.
  • Plan travel routes for inspections by organizing locations from a comprehensive store list by region, utilizing GPS technology and traditional navigation methods.
  • Engage with retailers to address compliance issues and recommend actionable solutions; educate sales teams and retailers on the significance of the ADA; distribute ADA resources, install signage, and clarify specifications for parking, ramps, and signage.
  • Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling vehicle maintenance, maintaining travel logs, drafting correspondence, and completing expense documentation.
  • Responsible for arranging accommodations for overnight travel during retailer inspections outside of the home base.

Qualifications:

  • Some college education coupled with at least one year of relevant experience.
  • Familiarity with the Americans with Disabilities Act requirements and their application in retail settings.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Ability to compile and document data accurately.
  • Strong mathematical aptitude.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
