Bakery Clerk Job Description

At Strack & Van Til, we are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused Bakery Clerk to join our team. As a Bakery Clerk, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional customer service, ensuring a clean and organized store environment, and maintaining a high level of product quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Customer Service: Assist customers with purchases, answer questions, and provide product recommendations.
  • Inventory Management: Receive, stock, and rotate products in the bakery department.
  • Product Quality: Inspect bakery products for freshness and quality.
  • Store Maintenance: Clean and sanitize the bakery department, back room, and cooler/freezer.
  • Order Taking: Take orders and prepare products for customers.
Requirements:
  • Positive Attitude: A positive customer service attitude and pleasant personality.
  • Effective Communication: Effective communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues.
  • Teamwork: Ability to work collaboratively with the bakery team to achieve sales goals.
  • Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
Work Environment:

Normal exposure to weather and temperature extremes. Exposure to cooler and freezer does not exceed 1 hour at a time.
