Job Summary

Rahal Letterman Lanigan is seeking a highly skilled Systems Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our engineering department, you will be responsible for optimizing the integration and performance of vehicle systems, including engine, electronics, and aerodynamics.

Key Responsibilities
  • Car Wiring Systems: Responsible for sensors and wiring cars at the shop before all tests and events.
  • Data Logging/Sensors: Support development, testing, and calibration of all race car mounted sensors.
  • Telemetry: Troubleshoot telemetry system faults and provide direction for improvement.
  • Radios: Responsible for car radio systems at the shop before all tests and races.
  • Timing Stand/IT: Assemble and disassemble the timing stand at the track and ensure all hardware and networks are operating correctly.
Requirements
  • Job Knowledge: Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the current IndyCar rules and regulations.
  • Development Engineering: Coordinate with supervisors on development and testing schedules.
  • Data Logging and Telemetry: Have a comprehensive understanding of data logging and telemetry systems.
  • General Engineering: Computer literacy and CAD literacy.
Job Equipment:
  • Maintain a personal supply of tools to perform required duties.
Race Travel:
  • This position is part of the RLL traveling team. You will be required to travel to all IndyCar events.
Engineering Department Operating Procedures:
  • Adhere to all engineering department operating procedures, as laid out by your supervisor(s), always.
  • Report any problems or disputes to your supervisor(s).
  • Report on your job(s) status to your supervisor(s) when needed.
