Job Summary: We are seeking a highly skilled AC & DC Winder to join our team at Industrial Service Solutions. As a winder, you will be responsible for applying strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills to perform quality repairs. Your primary duties will include assembling and testing electric motor and generator stators, armatures, or rotors, as well as inspecting cores for defects and aligning laminations. You will also be responsible for filing burrs from core slots, lining slots with sheet insulation, and inserting coils into slots. Additionally, you will cut, strip, and bend wire leads at ends of coils, twist leads together to connect coils, and tap coil and end windings to shape. You will also test windings for motor-housing clearance, grounds, and short circuits, and wind new coils on armatures, stators, or rotors of used motors and generators. Key Responsibilities:
  • Assemble and test electric motor and generator stators, armatures, or rotors.
  • Inspect cores for defects and align laminations.
  • File burrs from core slots.
  • Line slots with sheet insulation and insert coils into slots.
  • Cut, strip, and bend wire leads at ends of coils.
  • Twist leads together to connect coils.
  • Tap coil and end windings to shape.
  • Test windings for motor-housing clearance, grounds, and short circuits.
  • Wind new coils on armatures, stators, or rotors of used motors and generators.
Requirements:
  • Highly skilled at taking winding data and recording.
  • Thorough knowledge of various winding connections.
  • Excellent math skills.
