Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Elementary Teacher to join our team at Clayton County Public Schools. The successful candidate will be responsible for instructing students in one or more content areas, such as Reading, ELA, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Instruct students using various teaching methods, including lecture, audiovisual aids, demonstration, and other materials to supplement presentations relative to specific content fields.
  • Assign lessons and correct homework; administer tests to evaluate students' progress, record results, and issue reports to inform parents of progress.
  • Maintain discipline in the classroom and supervise behavior outside the classroom, including halls, bus, lunch/cafeteria, and rest room duty.
  • Prepare course outlines and objectives according to curriculum guidelines or state and local requirements.
  • Conduct parent/teacher conferences to review students' progress, performance, and behavior problems.
  • Participate in faculty and professional meetings, educational conferences, and teacher training workshops.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or higher required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year of teaching experience preferred.
  • Certification by the State of Georgia in Education T-4 to T-7 as required by the GaPSC.
  • Normal classroom/school setting.
  • Ability to stand and walk approximately seven (7) to seven and one-half (71⁄2) hours per day.
