The AOT Nursing Specialist collaborates with the treatment team to ensure that outpatients maintain optimal health during their care journey. This role involves meticulous documentation and communication of patient interactions and concerns, adhering to state regulations. This is a Full-Time position, operating Monday through Friday from 8 AM to 5 PM within the Diversion/Adult Outpatient Program.
Key Qualifications:
- Current Alabama RN License
- Preferred minimum of two years of experience in mental health nursing
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities
- Exceptional organizational and planning skills
- MAS certification as a supplementary qualification for current MAS nurses
Primary Responsibilities:
- Comply with the organization's care philosophy, professional ethics, and established policies and procedures
- Apply the nursing process to assess, plan, evaluate, and deliver care to clients in a residential setting
- Document patient information in our Electronic Medical Records System(s)
- Monitor medication effectiveness, assess changes in symptoms, and document observations regarding potential side effects
- Educate clients and their families about medications, including possible interactions and side effects, emphasizing adherence
- Ensure timely completion of client documentation in accordance with organizational and state standards
- Collaborate with team members regarding client welfare and engage with external agencies as necessary
- Assist with the Injection Clinic as required
- Handle prior authorizations, Patient Assistance Program prescriptions, and necessary client documentation
- Perform additional nursing duties as directed by the AOT and Medical Supervisor and Adult Services Director
- Full-time schedule, Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM
Additional Requirements:
- Maintain licensure in the State of Alabama
- Complete and update documentation promptly
- Participate in staff meetings
- Keep current with CPR/First Aid and other mandatory training
- Ability to work within the community
