Job Title: Registered Nurse - AOT Division Program

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our AOT Division Program at WellStone, a leading provider of behavioral healthcare services in North Alabama.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients in our 10-patient facility, conducting vital signs, preparing discharge planning, and providing basic living skills. The ideal candidate will have a valid Alabama State License, two years of nursing experience, and excellent oral and written communication skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct vital signs, including orthostatic blood pressure, weight, height, and pulse rate information of all patients in care.
  • Prepare discharge planning and provide basic living skills to patients.
  • Obtain information from clients regarding their physical status and make inquiries to include any changes, symptoms, etc.
  • Assess medication side effects and/or adverse reactions and perform medication monitoring.
  • Perform crisis intervention techniques as needed and administer injections, documenting in clients' electronic medical records.
  • Comply with OSHA regulations when administering I.M. medications and interface with local laboratories to obtain test results.
  • Answer telephones and ensure required training is up to date.
  • May be asked to work at our Crisis Respite Center and sign off on nursing assessments.
  • May be asked to provide approval of seclusion/restraints as necessary.

Requirements:

  • Valid Alabama State License.
  • Two years of nursing experience.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize, and use effective listening and communication skills.
  • Ability to walk throughout the facility and remain calm and effective in emergency situations.
