Position Summary
We are in search of a detail-oriented and proactive Junior Procurement Specialist to enhance our procurement team. This position plays a vital role in facilitating our procurement processes for essential equipment contracts, particularly in the realm of battery energy storage systems, modules, transformers, circuit breakers, and other significant renewable energy components. The successful candidate will assist in sourcing, negotiating, and acquiring these critical elements, ensuring that quality and cost-effectiveness meet our organizational standards and project timelines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Procurement Functions:
    • Assist in acquiring battery modules, transformers, and circuit breakers.
    • Prepare and manage purchase orders to guarantee timely equipment delivery.
    • Maintain precise procurement documentation and records.
  • Vendor Relations:
    • Support the identification and assessment of potential suppliers.
    • Foster and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure high-quality and cost-effective supplies.
    • Assist in negotiating supplier terms and conditions.
  • Logistics Coordination:
    • Coordinate logistics and shipping with vendors to ensure accurate and timely equipment delivery.
    • Monitor shipments and resolve any logistical challenges or delays.
    • Ensure compliance with international shipping regulations and customs protocols.
    • Collaborate with the construction team to align deliveries with project schedules.
  • Financial Management:
    • Work with finance and legal teams to process vendor payments as per contract stipulations.
    • Oversee payment schedules to ensure timely disbursements.
    • Address any discrepancies or issues regarding payments with vendors.
  • Contract Oversight:
    • Monitor contract milestones to ensure vendor deliverables align with contractual timelines and specifications.
    • Collaborate with project management and legal teams to fulfill all contractual obligations.
    • Assist in preparing and submitting progress reports to management and stakeholders.
  • Quality Control:
    • Ensure all procured equipment adheres to specified quality standards and regulatory requirements.
    • Work with the quality assurance team to resolve any issues with received equipment.
  • Cost Control:
    • Monitor and manage procurement costs, aiming for savings and value enhancement.
    • Assist in preparing cost analysis and reports for management review.
  • Collaboration:
    • Engage closely with engineering and project management teams to understand equipment needs.
    • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to ensure alignment and timely resolution of procurement-related matters.
  • Market Analysis:
    • Conduct market research to stay informed on industry trends, pricing, and new suppliers.
    • Provide insights and recommendations based on market analysis to support procurement strategies.

Qualifications

  • Strong analytical and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities with a keen attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Familiarity with procurement software and systems is advantageous.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • 0-3 years of experience in procurement or supply chain management, ideally within the renewable energy or electrical equipment sectors.
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.
