Veterinary Care Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician III to join our team at Tulane University Staff. This role provides critical support to our veterinarians in various procedures, treatments, and animal care duties.
Key Responsibilities- Assist veterinarians in diagnostic, surgical, and preventative procedures and treatments.
- Observe animals, report abnormalities, sickness, or injury, and participate in preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care.
- Monitor animal conditions and provide essential support.
- Participate in after-hours call and may work weekends, after hours, and holidays.
- Travel between campuses as required.
- High School Diploma or equivalent and four years of experience as an Animal Care Technician.
- Graduation from a two-year veterinary technician program and two years of veterinary technician experience.
- Bachelor's Degree in biological sciences (animal science, anthropology, biology, zoology) and four years of veterinary technician experience.
- Specific precautions and/or immunization against potentially hazardous agents are required.
- Certification as an AALAS Laboratory Technician (LAT).
This role is essential to the animal care and well-being at Tulane University Staff. The selected candidate must be able to maintain confidentiality and work effectively in a team environment.
