Veterinary Medical Officer

Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Veterinary Medical Officer to join our team at the US Army. As a key member of our veterinary clinic, you will be responsible for providing exceptional care to privately-owned animals, advising owners on proper immunizations and disease prevention, and performing administrative duties such as maintaining medical health records.
Responsibilities:
- Examine animals, treat diseases and injuries, conduct surgeries, and perform administrative duties.
- Collect body tissue, feces, blood, urine, and other body fluids for examination and diagnostic testing.
- Issue health certificates and provide direction and oversight to Animal Health Assistants.
Requirements:
- Possess a degree of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent degree.
- Possess a valid unrestricted state license to practice veterinary medicine.
- Meet the physical requirements of the position, including the ability to lift 40 lbs and work long periods of standing, restraining, kneeling, reaching, and sitting.
Working Conditions:
This position is located at the Fort Johnson Veterinary Treatment Facility and requires the ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
