POSITION SUMMARY:
  • Delivers exceptional, coordinated, comprehensive, team-oriented, and patient-focused care for individuals within the scope of pulmonology and/or sleep medicine.
  • Collaborates effectively within interdisciplinary practice frameworks.
  • Advocates for the vision and values of The Queen's Medical Center to enhance quality healthcare delivery and improve patient health outcomes, while supporting the mission to provide enduring healthcare services for the well-being of Native Hawaiians and all residents of Hawai`i.
CLINICAL DUTIES:
  • Administers inpatient and/or outpatient medical and procedural services in pulmonology and/or sleep medicine, as directed by leadership in Pulmonary Critical Care and Sleep Medicine.
  • Engages in ongoing post-graduate education as mandated by relevant licensing regulations and as requested by the medical group and healthcare system.
  • May participate in academic and clinical education, training, supervision, assessment, and research initiatives.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Graduate of an accredited medical school or possess equivalent certification.
  • Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the relevant jurisdiction.
  • Completion of a fellowship in Pulmonary Medicine and/or Sleep Medicine, accredited by the appropriate medical education council.
  • Board certification in Internal Medicine, Pulmonary Disease, and/or Sleep Medicine by the recognized specialty board. If not certified, must achieve certification within two years of starting the position.
  • Must maintain good standing as a member of the medical staff at affiliated hospitals with appropriate privileges.
  • Preferred: Minimum of three years of experience in Internal Medicine.
  • Preferred: Minimum of three years of experience in Pulmonary and/or Sleep Medicine.
  • Preferred: Eligibility for faculty appointment at a recognized medical school.
Base salary starts at $347,037 per year, with potential for performance-based incentives.
