Job Title: Phlebotomist II

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled Phlebotomist II to join our team at Quest Diagnostics in Buffalo, MN. As a Phlebotomist II, you will be responsible for collecting blood specimens from patients in a variety of settings, including hospitals, clinics, and laboratories. This is a rewarding role that requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently.

Responsibilities:

  • Collect blood specimens from patients using a variety of techniques, including venipuncture and capillary puncture.
  • Administer oral solutions to patients as required.
  • Verify patient information and test orders using lab technology systems and approved tools.
  • Enter data accurately and efficiently using a computer.
  • Process specimens, including labeling, centrifuging, aliquoting, freezing, and preparing for transport.
  • Perform non-patient facing duties, including inventory, stock supplies, sanitizing, filing, and answering phones.
  • Read, understand, and comply with departmental policies, protocols, and procedures.
  • Assist with compilation and submission of statistics and data as required.

Requirements:

  • Three years of phlebotomy experience, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections.
  • Keyboard/data entry experience.
  • Flexible and available based on staffing needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime.
  • Reliable transportation, valid driver's license, and clean driving record (if applicable).
