Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Paramedic to join our EMS Ambulance Services team. As a Paramedic, you will provide patient care within the State-approved scope of practice in pre-hospital, urgent care, and emergency department settings.

Responsibilities
  • Participate in the provision of patient care based on setting and acuity of patient care needs.
  • Ensure a safe, comfortable, therapeutic environment for patients and families.
  • Organize care in a manner that contributes to the overall quality of the team.
  • Perform wound care and dressing changes, prepare patients for surgery, insert and remove gastric and urethral tubes, apply plaster and fiberglass splints, casts, and traction devices.
  • Perform bedside testing, such as oximetry, ECG, Glucometry, urinalysis, and other tests with demonstrated/documented competencies.
  • Administer medications contained in ordered Emergency Department Treatment Protocols and within State-approved Scope of Practice.
  • Assist in cleaning and maintaining emergency supplies and equipment.
  • Monitor patients and maintain records using patient monitoring system and electronic health records.
  • Document and maintain an informative and accurate medical record to initiate charges for each patient treated.
  • Communicate and process necessary paperwork/information for patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
Requirements
  • High School/GED
  • Current NM drivers license is required (out of state candidates have 30 days from date of hire to obtain)
  • Must be at least 21 years of age with a driving record insurable per PHS policy
  • Requires certification in defensive driving techniques
  • Must possess and maintain a State of New Mexico Paramedic certification in good standing
  • Must maintain a New Mexico drivers license without relevant restrictions
  • Must have upon hire and maintain all required certifications (ACLS, BLS, DOT certification)
