Job Overview

Position: Banding Technician

We are looking for skilled Operator Technicians to ensure the safe and efficient production of high-quality products at our facility.

SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Adhere to all safety protocols:
  2. Complete all required safety training.
  3. Utilize necessary personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel-toed boots, safety glasses, ear protection, and hard hats.
  4. Achieve General Plan Safety Certification within the initial two weeks of employment.
  5. Understand and implement Lock Out Tag Out procedures for designated areas.
  6. Execute tasks in compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

  1. Take ownership of safety, cleanliness, and product quality.
  2. Operate machinery effectively to meet key performance indicators (KPIs) related to safety, quality, production, and cost efficiency.
  3. Set up equipment according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and optimal running conditions.
  4. Ensure timely and accurate completion of Standard Work.
  5. Identify and address non-conforming or out-of-specification parameters.
  6. Maintain accurate and complete daily documentation.
  7. Receive cross-training in Raw Materials and Packaging areas.
  8. Maintain support equipment in line with established specifications.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Experience with banding machinery and related components.
  2. Familiarity with ERP and Inventory Control Systems.
  3. Licensed to operate powered industrial vehicles (PIV).
  4. Ability to read and interpret safety regulations, operational guidelines, and maintenance instructions.
  5. Proficient in computer usage, capable of navigating multiple software interfaces.
  6. Self-motivated and able to maintain focus with minimal supervision.
  7. Willingness to work flexible hours as needed.
  8. Preferred mechanical aptitude and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  1. Must wear respirators and face shields when required, with appropriate facial grooming for effectiveness.
  2. Ability to stand, twist, bend, climb, reach, and stoop for extended periods.
  3. Capable of lifting at least 45 lbs. and pushing/pulling up to 60 lbs.
  4. Ability to work in a dusty and noisy environment.
  5. Adaptability to extreme seasonal temperatures in a plant setting.
