Key Responsibilities
  • Financial Management: Coordinate and manage business office functions, including employee safety, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and customer service.
  • Census and Insurance Verification: Complete census and insurance verification for new patients, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Financial Record-Keeping: Complete receipt records, post deposits, run cash receipts batch listings, research/prepare/post adjustments, and maintain accurate financial files for residents.
  • Month-End Close Process: Complete the Month End Close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Resident Financial Services: Set up and maintain financial files for residents, including billing, admission papers, state, and Medicare reimbursement documents; coordinate and collect accounts receivable and past-due accounts.
  • Customer Service: Review payment policies and procedures with new admissions and their responsible parties, and answer family inquiries regarding billing for services.
  • Trust Account Management: Administer and reconcile resident trust accounts and petty cash.
Requirements
  • Experience: 1-2 years of experience within a long-term care environment, including managing accounts receivable and accounts payable functions.
  • Knowledge: Knowledge and expertise in the Nursing Home Medicaid process.
  • Software Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively with residents, families, staff, vendors, and the general public.
  • Financial Skills: Knowledge of billing and collection practices/techniques.
  • Organizational Skills: Superior organization skills and attention to detail.
  • Multi-Tasking: Proven ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively.
