Job Title: Heavy Equipment Technician

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Technician to join our team at Astro Waste Inc. The successful candidate will be responsible for inspecting, diagnosing, and repairing diesel-powered vehicles and machines.

The ideal candidate will have advanced knowledge of diesel engine vehicles and in-depth understanding of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms.

The role requires excellent problem-solving skills, keen attention to detail, and proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspecting vehicle systems, including suspensions, steering, and exhausts
  • Repairing or replacing vehicle transmissions, brakes, engines, and other associated parts
  • Conducting field visits in case of an emergency or sudden breakdown
  • Test driving repaired vehicles to gauge their performance
  • Maintaining records of parts inventory and serviced vehicles

Requirements:

  • Advanced knowledge of Diesel engine vehicles
  • In-depth knowledge of diesel engine components and operational mechanisms
  • Superior knowledge of maintenance tools and repair equipment
  • Comfortable using mechanical and electrical power tools
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Basic knowledge of computer systems and other relevant electronics
  • Proficiency in the use of diesel engine diagnostic software
  • A valid driver's license
  • Good interpersonal skills
  • Effective collaboration and communication skills
