Job Overview

St. Augustine Preparatory Academy is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Middle School Fellow Teacher to join our team. As a key member of our instructional staff, you will play a vital role in providing academic support and guidance to our students.

The ideal candidate will have a strong passion for Christian education and a commitment to excellence in teaching and learning. You will work closely with our instructional coaches and lead teachers to develop and implement engaging lesson plans that meet the needs of our students.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan and execute highly engaging and academically rigorous lessons for the school level assigned.
  • Seek out opportunities to integrate Biblical truth with lessons.
  • Have bi-weekly meetings with an instructional coach and implement feedback to improve practice.
  • Implement curriculum and activities to ensure students meet academic benchmarks and grade-level standards.
  • Use academic data to modify both whole and small-group instruction to best meet student needs.
  • Serve as a cultural and spiritual model for students, interacting respectfully and demonstrating God's love to students and families.
  • Serve as the school level sub and provide coverage for daily absences and/or extended absences.
  • Serve as an advisor (grades 6-12).
  • Support with intervention/acceleration periods for the school level assigned.
  • Work with instructional aides, lead teachers, and parent/community volunteers.
  • Help with arrival, lunch, recess, and dismissal duties.
  • Attend all school-related professional development sessions and staff meetings.
  • Support the school by completing other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

  • A belief in the ability of every child and a commitment to ensure excellence for each student.
  • Bachelor's Degree.
  • Participating member in a local church.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills; bilingual in Spanish preferred.
  • Skilled in strategic planning, project management, and organization development; able to balance a focus on big picture priorities while not losing sight of annual goals and objectives.
  • Team player committed to the St. Augustine Preparatory mission and model.
  • Demonstrate and possess the highest integrity and be able to live the values, beliefs, and culture of St. Augustine Prep.
