As an Information Specialist, you will be the main point of contact for visitors, providing prompt, proactive, and efficient responses to problems, issues, and questions. You will oversee the full operations of the Information Desk, including lost and found, vending refunds, package deliveries, and accessibility amenities.

Responsibilities:

* Provide exceptional service to guests and colleagues by maintaining in-depth knowledge of Museum offerings, accessibility amenities, services, events, business, and safety protocols and procedures.
* Act as a main point of contact by assisting with communication of all emergencies, including fire, first aid, and lost children.
* Maintain the highest degree of self-sufficiency in providing excellent service and being aware of surroundings.
* Honestly and accurately collect, store, return, and inventory all lost and found items.
* Provide account oversight for the refund drawer and provide refunds to guests.
* Fulfills requests for information, meetings, and accessibility amenities by utilizing up-to-date tools and systems.
* Models the highest level of service to guests and colleagues by providing prompt, proactive, and efficient responses.
* Works with Information Desk Volunteers to ensure they have current knowledge of events, programs, and general admissions policies.

Work Schedule:

* This is a part-time position with a schedule of Monday 8:30 am to 5:30 pm and Saturday 8:30 am to 6:00 pm.

Reports to:

* Manager, Visitor Services and Venue Operations.

Minimum Qualification:

* Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
* Experience: 1 or more years of customer service experience.

Basic Qualifications:

* Demonstrated professionalism.
* Demonstrated organizational and attention to detail skills.
* Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, web browsers, and Outlook.
* Demonstrated oral and written communication skills to effectively provide customer service and promote museum offerings.
* Ability to handle multiple tasks at one time in a fast-paced environment.
* Proven success to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Starting Salary:

* Non-Exempt (Hourly): $19.36/hour.
