Job Summary:

The Korotkova laboratory is seeking a diligent and enthusiastic undergraduate student eager to acquire knowledge in microbiological, biochemical, and molecular methodologies. The objectives of our research initiatives involve investigating the virulence mechanisms of significant bacterial pathogens and developing innovative therapeutic strategies. Responsibilities encompass preparing media stocks and buffers, maintaining laboratory glassware and equipment, and assisting in experimental procedures. Preference will be given to candidates with prior coursework or experience in Chemistry and Biology. This opportunity is particularly suitable for pre-med students or those considering graduate studies in microbiology or biochemistry. Students will have the chance to engage in research projects as they gain experience.

Skills / Knowledge / Abilities:

The ideal candidate should possess the ability to calculate concentrations of chemical solutions and have a foundational understanding of pH and buffer systems. Additional training will be provided. Candidates should be committed to joining a scientific team for the long term rather than for a single semester. This role presents an excellent opportunity for students to gain laboratory experience, deepen their scientific knowledge, and contribute meaningfully to our research endeavors.
