Accounts Receivable Analyst Job Description

Motion & Flow Control Products is seeking a highly skilled Accounts Receivable Analyst to join our team. As a key member of our financial operations team, you will be responsible for providing financial and administrative support to ensure the effective and efficient operation of our accounts receivable function.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Process and analyze accounts receivable transactions to ensure accuracy and timeliness
  • Verify and record payments made to the company, reconcile balances, and maintain records
  • Set up and maintain customer accounts in our accounting systems
  • Ensure transactions are accurate and remittances are correctly coded and allocated
  • Prepare journal entries and reconcile general ledger or bank accounts on a regular basis, monitor cash flow
  • Respond to customer inquiries, research and resolve concerns or discrepancies
  • Assist in year-end or monthly/quarterly accounting procedures
  • Perform tasks associated with setting up new customer accounts, obtaining commercial credit reports, communicating with branch managers, sales reps, and other personnel as necessary
  • Determine customer credit worthiness to release sales orders
  • Send invoices and statements to customers as needed
  • Maintain good working relationships with customers, management, and other team members
  • Provide superior customer service and support company goals
Requirements:
  • At least 5+ years of experience in Accounts Receivable collection
  • Familiarity with different accounting systems, specifically Epicor Prophet 21 or equivalent
  • Excellent written and oral communication and strong relationship building skills
  • Detail-oriented with solid organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced work environment
  • Intermediate computer skills, including use of MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook), with a willingness to learn new software programs
  • Experience with Epicor Prophet 21 a plus
