Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Building Maintenance Specialist to join our team at The Joint Commission. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our building systems, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preventive Maintenance
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks to prevent equipment failures and ensure optimal system performance.
    • Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and implement corrective actions.
    • Collaborate with the Chief Engineer to develop and implement a comprehensive preventive maintenance program.
  • Service Work Orders
    • Respond promptly to service requests and complete work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
    • Communicate effectively with building occupants and stakeholders to ensure minimal disruption to business operations.
    • Provide excellent customer service and ensure customer satisfaction.
  • General Building Maintenance
    • Perform routine maintenance tasks, including cleaning, painting, and repairs.
    • Assist with special projects, such as renovations and upgrades.
    • Collaborate with other facilities staff to ensure seamless building operations.
    Requirements
    • Education and Experience
      • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree in a related field preferred.
      • Minimum of 5 years of experience in building maintenance or a related field.
    • Skills and Qualifications
      • Strong knowledge of mechanical systems, including HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
      • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
      • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
      • Valid Illinois driver's license required.
