Role Overview

As a skilled Mammography Technologist, you'll operate radiologic equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic X-ray images, working closely with physicians and other support staff to ensure the best possible patient outcomes. Your expertise will be essential in detecting breast tumors and providing accurate diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Specialize in the production of screening and diagnostic X-rays for breast imaging
  • Position patients on examining tables and adjust immobilization devices to obtain optimal views
  • Explain procedures to patients to reduce anxieties and ensure cooperation
  • Adjust equipment controls to set exposure factors and select radiation exposure levels
  • Practice radiation protection techniques to minimize exposure to patients and staff
  • Examine radiologic images for properties such as density and contrast
  • Process radiographic images and send them to PACS, maintaining X-ray storage and filing
  • Ensure equipment is in working order and report malfunctions to supervisors
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and participate in professional development activities

Requirements:

  • Satisfactory completion of formal radiologic technology training in an AMA-approved school
  • Current Oregon license in Diagnostic Radiography
  • Current certification by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT)
  • Current healthcare level CPR/BLS certification
  • 1+ years of mammography experience

Preferred Qualification:

  • Epic and PACS experience
