Role Summary: The Grants Development Specialist plays a pivotal role in supporting all Public Service and Outreach (PSO) units in their pursuit of external grants and sponsored program opportunities. This position is essential for enhancing the generation of external funding, which is crucial for fulfilling the operational needs of PSO units.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Identify and align funding opportunities with the missions of PSO units, ensuring a deep understanding of their objectives.
  • Act as a resource for PSO units regarding grant-related inquiries, providing technical assistance in project design, application processes, grant management, budget formulation, and compliance.
  • Develop and manage training and professional development initiatives for PSO faculty and staff, focusing on grant development through workshops, webinars, and presentations.
  • Foster and maintain collaborative relationships with PSO units, corporate and foundation relations, and other university administrative units involved in grant processes.
  • Monitor and report on grant funding levels and performance in relation to strategic goals.

Essential Skills:
