Overview

Responsibilities
  • Geometric design of highway, roadway, and ADA projects according to AASHTO standards.
  • Preparation of design plans, cost estimates, and specifications for highway, roadway, and ADA projects.
  • Creation of displays and graphics for client and public meetings, including 3D project design and model development.
  • Assistance with the design and development of complete construction documents, including coordination with other disciplines.
  • Preparation of project specifications and construction cost estimates.
  • Coordination of technical aspects of projects with clients and project managers.
  • Monitoring of work by sub-consultants to ensure timely completion and budget adherence.
  • Review of plans, specifications, and estimates at various milestones to ensure completeness and accuracy.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited school.
  • 5-8 years of experience in highway, roadway, and ADA design, with a focus on construction document preparation.
  • Maryland PE license.
  • Understanding of highway engineering principles and development for highway contract documents.
  • Proficiency in CADD software, including AutoCAD/Civil 3D and Microstation.
  • Experience with InRoads, OpenRoads Designer, AutoTurn, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent time management and written/oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and timely, with a willingness to learn from teammates.
  • Design experience with Maryland and/or Delaware state and local agencies.
  • Team-oriented and self-motivated individual.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
