Responsibilities

We are seeking a highly skilled and success-oriented Highway Project Engineer to join our highway design team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in geometric design, project planning, and construction document preparation.

  • Design highways, roadways, and ADA projects in accordance with AASHTO standards.
  • Prepare design plans, cost estimates, and specifications for highway, roadway, and ADA projects.
  • Develop 3D project designs and models, and create displays and graphics for client and public meetings.
  • Assist with the design and development of construction documents, including coordination with other disciplines.
  • Write and prepare project specifications, and prepare construction cost estimates.
  • Coordinate with clients and project managers to ensure project completion on time and within budget.
  • Monitor the work of sub-consultants to ensure timely completion and technical accuracy.
Qualifications

The successful candidate will have a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited school, and 5-8 years of experience in highway, roadway, and ADA design. A Maryland PE license is also required.

  • Strong understanding of highway engineering principles and contract document development.
  • Proficiency in CADD software, including AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microstation.
  • Experience with InRoads, OpenRoads Designer, AutoTurn, and Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent time management and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
