Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Part Time Literacy Specialist to join our team at Douglas Education Service District. As a certified reading educator, you will play a vital role in supporting the development of reading instruction in our schools.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the K-5 instructional team to develop and implement best practices for reading instruction.
- Lead professional development for K-5 teachers on reading instruction and assessment.
- Conduct classroom observations to ensure instructional fidelity and provide feedback to teachers.
- Oversee reading assessments and analyze data to inform instruction.
- May work with small instructional groups to support student reading development.
Requirements:
- Certification as a reading specialist or equivalent experience.
- At least three years of experience in reading instruction.
- Experience with administering and analyzing data from Smarter Balance ELA, DIBELs, and STAR Literacy assessments.
- Ability to facilitate reading professional development and provide objective feedback to colleagues.
