Key Responsibilities- Design and develop mobile application software, including prototyping and testing
- Contribute to the development of highly innovative, consumer-facing Android and iOS mobile app architecture
- Develop front-end languages, libraries, and rendering technologies, including JavaScript, TypeScript, React Native, React.js, Java, and Swift
- Define front-end architectures and explore technical feasibility tradeoffs
- Develop highly interactive user experiences and design for scalability, performance, and reliability on the client side
- Write clean, maintainable code and perform peer code reviews
- Write tests for new and existing code to drive code coverage to 100%
- Work with other team members to investigate design approaches, prototype new technology, and evaluate technical feasibility
- Work in an Agile/Scrum environment to deliver high-quality software against aggressive schedules
- Collaborate with product and design teams to customize the Alexa experience on mobile devices
You will be responsible for leading the development and launch of core features, with significant influence on our overall strategy. You will help define these features, drive the system architecture, and spearhead best practices that enable a quality product.
About the TeamYou'll be part of a team that creates scalable solutions that make up the Mobile Architecture of the Alexa app. Our team provides the building blocks to effortlessly build scalable, secure, robust, and performant code. Our mission is to make Alexa available anytime, anywhere. We're mobile experts who mentor and develop the best.
Requirements- 3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 2+ years of non-internship design or architecture experience (design patterns, reliability, and scaling) of new and existing systems
- Experience programming with at least one software programming language
- 3+ years of full software development life cycle experience, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 2+ years of professional non-internship experience with front-end, web, or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML, and CSS
- Proficient in front-end languages, libraries, and rendering technologies, including JavaScript, TypeScript, React Native, React.js, Java, and Swift
- Experience with full-native, hybrid, and pure-web mobile app development
- Experience developing cloud software services and an understanding of design for scalability, performance, and reliability
- Excellence in technical communication with peers and non-technical cohorts
- Demonstrated leadership abilities in an engineering environment in driving operational excellence and best practices
- Demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in a highly innovative and fast-paced environment
