Overview
Under general supervision, you will carry out general maintenance tasks with a reasonable degree of autonomy to apply your knowledge and technical skills.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Assess assigned tasks and ensure the availability of appropriate materials and tools for completion.
- Guide work, offer technical support, and inspect tasks performed by maintenance staff.
- Conduct preventive, corrective, and emergency maintenance activities.
- Operate machinery and equipment relevant to your assigned duties.
- Engage in carpentry tasks, including the repair or replacement of doors, windows, walls, flooring, roofing, and other wooden structures.
- Perform plumbing, heating, and air conditioning repairs, including work on furnaces, duct systems, air conditioning units, piping, and restroom facilities.
- Handle electrical repairs, including the replacement of lighting fixtures, control switches, and wiring.
- Undertake minor construction projects such as building storage solutions, shelving, counters, and workbenches using hand and power tools.
- Conduct mechanical maintenance and repairs on facility machinery, motors, and vehicles.
- Maintain accurate records of all repairs conducted.
- Assist in ensuring the security of assigned personnel.
- Carry out additional duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent certification is required.
- A minimum of five (5) years of full-time experience in general maintenance, construction, or a related field. Completion of a relevant technical or trade school program may substitute for two (2) years of the required experience.
- Familiarity with maintenance techniques and procedures, including the ability to interpret electrical diagrams and perform necessary calculations.
- Strong communication skills to convey ideas and instructions clearly and effectively.
