Midwestern Insurance Alliance is in search of a dedicated safety expert to enhance our Loss Control division. The chosen candidate will engage with both current and potential workers' compensation policyholders, primarily focusing on the mechanized logging and transportation sectors.
The primary objectives of the Risk Management Consultant include delivering valuable insights regarding employers' operations and safety protocols to support the workers' compensation underwriting process, as well as aiding existing policyholders in mitigating employee injuries.
This position is remote and will operate within the designated service area.
Core Responsibilities:
- Perform assigned loss control evaluations (both in-person and via phone), which involves analyzing current safety management systems and inspecting policyholders' work environments to assess injury risks and ascertain the implementation of suitable controls.
- Draft professionally articulated reports that encompass a comprehensive overview of the policyholder's operations and safety management strategies, along with identifying deficiencies and/or opportunities for risk enhancement.
- Offer practical recommendations and relevant safety information to policyholders to aid in compliance with recommendations and/or proactive safety training for their workforce.
- Organize assigned tasks in accordance with deadlines established by management.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in general computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Capable of planning and executing tasks efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication abilities.
- Bilingual in Spanish is preferred.
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Safety or equivalent experience is preferred.
- Basic understanding of mechanized logging operations is advantageous.
- Solid knowledge of safety regulations and recognized safe work practices.
