Role Responsibilities
  • Coordinate the integration of generation and energy storage resources into the ERCOT System, overseeing the entire process from initial application to commercial operation approval.
  • Conduct security screening studies and evaluate Full Interconnection Study (FIS) scopes and reports.
  • Review compliance with ERCOT Planning Guides, Protocols, and Market Rules, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Collaborate with Market Participants, including Interconnecting Entities, Resource Entities, and Transmission Operators, to facilitate effective communication and problem-solving.
  • Engage with various ERCOT departments to support system operations and enhance modeling accuracy.
  • Perform detailed reviews of commissioning plans and milestones, ensuring alignment with operational standards.
  • Develop and maintain software tools that improve system reliability and departmental efficiencies.
  • Participate in the drafting and presentation of changes to protocols and guides, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a power system engineering role or a related field.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline is required.
  • Preferred experience includes familiarity with the electric utility industry and power flow analysis software.
  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency in programming languages such as VBA, SQL, or Python are advantageous.
Work Environment
ERCOT offers flexible work arrangements, allowing employees to balance their professional and personal lives effectively. Employees are expected to work on-site a minimum of two days per week, with options for remote work from Texas.
