To provide high-quality dental care and associated services to patients under the general supervision of a dentist, utilizing established dental assisting procedures while collaborating in a team environment in a variety of patient care and clinical duties.
Key Responsibilities:- Assist the dentist during various treatment procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Review treatment plans and answer patient questions prior to starting procedures.
- Complete treatment consents, including re-care and op sheets, and maintain accurate records.
- Perform routine dental cleanings and take dental radiographs as needed.
- Monitor nitrous oxide and maintain a safe and clean working environment.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Coordinator to ensure efficient inventory control and ordering of supplies.
- Educate patients and parents on oral hygiene strategies to maintain oral health.
- Support the back-of-the-house operations by sterilizing and delivering instruments, positioning instruments for the dentist's access, and suctioning.
- High School diploma or GED certificate.
- Successful completion of a dental assistant program as per state guidelines.
- Dental x-ray certification.
- Coronal Polishing Certification.
- Additional certification such as nitrous oxide desired but not required.
