Deputy Sheriff II

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Deputy Sheriff II - Certified Law Enforcement Officer to join our team at Eddy County, NM. As a Deputy Sheriff II, you will be responsible for enforcing laws and ordinances, protecting the public's constitutional rights, and providing exceptional service to our community.

• Perform a wide range of patrol duties, including enforcing laws and ordinances, and protecting the public's constitutional rights.
• Work from rotating shift patrol assignments, operating a patrol vehicle in a designated area of the county, and maintaining a high level of personal conduct and professionalism.
• Carry out law enforcement duties with minimal supervision, while being mindful of the constitutional rights of the citizenry, both on and off duty.
• May be required to work irregular hours, attend job-related meetings, and perform other duties as assigned.

• Must be certified as a law enforcement officer.
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
• Must be able to communicate effectively with the public and other law enforcement agencies.
• Must be able to work independently and as part of a team.

As a Deputy Sheriff II, you will be required to work in a variety of environments, including patrol vehicles, offices, and other law enforcement facilities. You will be exposed to hazardous conditions, including physical confrontations and exposure to infectious diseases.

The starting hiring range for this position is $28.23 - $31.15 per hour, certified DOE.
