We are looking for a dedicated individual to become part of our Operations team at Alpek Polyester USA. The ideal candidate for the Bale Processing Operator role should demonstrate a strong commitment to safety and exhibit a high level of self-motivation and responsibility in supporting the recycling and production processes through effective handling of raw materials and finished goods.
Key ResponsibilitiesThe Bale Processing Operator will report directly to the Shift Supervisor and will be tasked with the following duties:
- Maintain and clean lift trucks according to established procedures.
- Inspect equipment prior to use and report any damages or issues.
- Ensure safety protocols are followed when unloading raw materials from trailers.
- Conduct inspections of bales and communicate any quality concerns to the Shift Supervisor.
- Feed production bales onto the designated conveyor system.
- Clean up any spillage from trailers.
- Properly dispose of wires and other materials as per operational guidelines.
- Document necessary information from vendor tags on the designated receiving forms.
- Submit completed forms and vendor tags to the supervisor at the end of the shift.
- Maintain cleanliness in the assigned work area, following specific cleaning procedures.
- Communicate effectively with the incoming shift regarding job status and any issues encountered.
- Notify the supervisor immediately if production is hindered due to staging issues.
- Adhere to all plant rules, including those related to quality, maintenance, and safety.
- Exhibit regular and reliable attendance as a fundamental aspect of this role.
- Wear and maintain all required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Perform any additional duties as assigned.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Possession of a valid forklift/lift truck license.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Positive attitude and ability to follow management direction.
- Capability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Understanding of raw materials and quality control processes.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery safely.
- Capacity to frequently lift and move products weighing up to 50 lbs.
- Ability to navigate the work area and adapt to 12-hour rotating shifts.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions, both indoors and outdoors.
