About the Role

The Communications Platform Product Manager will lead a high-performing team focused on developing and enhancing our customer communications. This role will drive the strategy, roadmap, and execution of key initiatives that drive the effectiveness and scalability of our communication platform.

About the Team

You will collaborate closely with Engineering, Design, Marketing, and other cross-functional partners to deliver and scale innovative solutions that meet the evolving needs of our users and stakeholders. Your work will impact the customer experience across Gusto's products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop a deep understanding of effective communications to advance a platform that meets the needs of our diverse customer base.
  • Set goals and strategy for your domain, then translate it into a roadmap, milestones, and requirements based on business impact, customer needs, and technical feasibility.
  • Set, track, and improve key product and business metrics.
  • Conduct user research, gather feedback, and analyze data across domains to inform product decisions that impact the user experience.
  • Drive the product development process from concept to launch, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality products that delight customers and result in significant and measurable business impact.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of product management experience driving platforms and systems, including experience leading communication platforms or products that involve messaging, notifications, or real-time communications.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading complex projects from concept to launch.
  • Expertise in identifying and understanding patterns across interconnected systems.
  • Strong data literacy and the ability to derive data-driven insights that guide strategic decision-making.
  • Strength in finding clarity in ambiguous situations to make informed and well-reasoned decisions.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive cash compensation package, with a targeted range of $153,000 to $191,000 per year in Denver and major metro locations, and $186,000 to $230,000 per year in San Francisco, New York, and Seattle. Final offer amounts are determined by multiple factors, including candidate location, experience, and expertise.

Work Environment

Gusto has physical office spaces in Denver, San Francisco, and New York City. Employees based in these locations will work from the office on designated days, approximately 2-3 days per week. We also have a subsidiary, Symmetry, with a physical office in Scottsdale. When working from a location other than a Gusto office, a secure, reliable, and consistent internet connection is required.
