Position Overview:
Mental Health Resource Center Inc is actively seeking a dedicated full-time Youth Psychiatric Specialist.


The Child and Adolescent inpatient program at MHRC offers essential short-term stabilization services for individuals aged 17 and younger facing significant emotional and behavioral challenges. This program provides a structured and supervised therapeutic environment available 24 hours a day.

Our services encompass thorough assessments, psychiatric evaluations, physical examinations, medication management, individual and group therapy, educational sessions, social rehabilitation, activity options, discharge planning, and connections to case management and follow-up services.

At MHRC, our team collaborates to positively impact our patients' lives while fostering a supportive and friendly work atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities:

- Deliver diagnoses, medication, therapies, interventions, and other approved treatment modalities for your assigned caseload while maintaining a therapeutic environment.

- Evaluate patients experiencing psychiatric crises.

- Develop and maintain problem-oriented treatment plans with clear goals and objectives for each patient.

- Conduct psychiatric evaluations and treatment plan reviews at designated intervals to monitor patient progress and make necessary recommendations.

- Ensure patients are fully informed about prescribed medications and complete the necessary informed consent documentation.

- Prescribe medications in compliance with state licensure and the MHRC formulary.

- Participate in multidisciplinary treatment team meetings.

- Consult with staff, family members, significant others, and other agencies regarding patients' diagnostic, medical, and treatment issues.

- Provide feedback and guidance to MHRC clinical managers regarding clinical functions within your area of supervision and offer consultations to other staff members delivering clinical services.

Qualifications:

To be considered, candidates must possess:
- An M.D. or D.O. degree

- Board Eligibility or Board Certification in Psychiatry

- A valid Florida State License

- Current DEA certification


The Psychiatric Specialist must demonstrate sound decision-making skills and good judgment daily, particularly in recognizing emergencies and life-threatening situations and responding appropriately.


Strong communication skills are essential, enabling effective interaction with internal and external stakeholders, including patients, families, caregivers, community service providers, supervisory staff, and other professionals.


Each employee plays a vital role in maintaining the completeness and confidentiality of clinical records by ensuring that documentation, paperwork, and system entries adhere to internal and external guidelines for content, accuracy, and timeliness.

Proficiency in the MHRC Electronic Health Records (EHR) system is required within three months of employment.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and email is also necessary.

Position Details:
Full-time roles come with a comprehensive benefits package. Participation in the weekend on-call rotation is mandatory for full-time positions, with additional compensation provided for weekend on-call services.

MHRC also offers weekend on-call opportunities within our Inpatient Programs for those seeking part-time or weekend employment.
